Artificial Intelligence (AI) could mean any of a wide range of things. Dumb technology would be a timer you hook up to a lamp. You set the time it turns on, the time it turns off, and it never deviates from that. Injecting AI into that equation might be something as simple as synchronizing it with sunrise and sunset. Furthering that, AI could also involve using other sensors to determine whether or not there’s someone in the room to automatically dim the lights and save electricity if there’s no one there. On the most extreme end of the spectrum, AI can mean a complex computer program like Amazon’s Alexa that can interact with humans verbally.
