Quora Data Breach
Quora, a popular question and answer forum, notified its users this week that a data breach has exposed 100 million user’s data. An excerpt from the email they distributed:
“On Friday we discovered that some user data was compromised by a third party who gained unauthorized access to our systems. We’re still investigating the precise causes and in addition to the work being conducted by our internal security teams, we have retained a leading digital forensics and security firm to assist us. We have also notified law enforcement officials.”

Agricool is Cool
Agricool, a French startup, is mashing up high tech and recycled shipping containers to create an urban agriculture revolution. Using LEDs to replace the sun and sophisticated heating and cooling systems, Agricool can create better, healthier agricultural products.
They’ve raised another $28M in their latest funding round. Access to high quality, low environmental impact food in Urban environments sounds like a win-win to me.
5G is going to be Pricey
The up-and-coming generation of cellular network tech is called 5G, or, literally, fifth generation. No one has specific numbers yet, but everybody says the phones are going to be expensive.
OnePlus, a relative newcomer to the Android market, has pledged to do their best to keep their 5G handset under $1000. That’s illuminating, because OnePlus’ niche is good quality, high feature, inexpensive phones.
